PRIVACY POLICY

Fairway One is a golf companion application provided by KINNECKT™ (“KINNECKT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains the information Fairway One uses, how it is used and shared, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.
By using Fairway One, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.
1. INFORMATION FAIRWAY ONE USES
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE
You may use the main features of Fairway One as a guest. An account is not required to search for golf courses, use course GPS, keep a score locally, or review golf-rule guidance.
If you choose to create an account, we use:
• Your email address.
• Authentication credentials processed by Firebase Authentication. Fairway One does not receive or store your password in readable form.
• A unique account identifier assigned by Firebase.
• Information you provide through a support or account-deletion form.
GOLF AND APP INFORMATION
Depending on the features you use, Fairway One may process:
• Selected golf course and tee box.
• Hole-by-hole scores, putts, par, yardages, round dates, and round totals.
• Golf bag, performance, and app-preference information when those features are available and used.
• Typed or transcribed golf-rule questions.
• Course search terms such as a course name, city, state, or ZIP code.
Guest round information and preferences are stored on your device. If cloud backup or account syncing is made available, Fairway One will clearly identify that feature before your information is uploaded. We will update this policy and the applicable app-store privacy disclosures before collecting additional categories of information.
PRECISE LOCATION
Fairway One requests foreground location permission only when needed for the on-course GPS feature. While GPS Caddie is active, your device location is used to calculate approximate distances to mapped greens and hazards.
Fairway One does not intentionally save your live GPS coordinates to your account or upload them to KINNECKT servers. Location is used while the feature is active and remains in the app’s temporary working memory. You may deny or withdraw location permission in your device settings. Other app features will continue to work, but GPS distance calculations will not.
Fairway One does not request background location access.
MICROPHONE AND SPEECH RECOGNITION
When you tap the voice-question control, Fairway One requests access to the microphone and speech-recognition service so your spoken golf question can be converted into text. Fairway One does not intentionally retain raw audio recordings.
Depending on your device and settings, Apple, Google, or another speech-service provider may process audio to create the transcript. That provider’s privacy policy applies to its processing. The resulting text is treated in the same way as a typed question. If cloud-assisted answers are enabled, question text—not intentionally retained raw audio—may be sent to a service provider solely to generate or verify the answer.
DEVICE AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Firebase and other service providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to provide, protect, and troubleshoot their services. This can include IP address, device or browser information, user agent, authentication events, and security logs. Fairway One does not use this information for advertising tracking.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
• Provide account sign-in and account security.
• Display course details, tee boxes, yardages, weather, greens, and hazards.
• Calculate on-course GPS distances.
• Save and display scores and round information.
• Convert a spoken rule question into text.
• Provide plain-language golf-rule guidance and course-specific information.
• Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
• Prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and protect the app and its users.
• Meet legal and app-store obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising, and Fairway One does not contain third-party advertising.
3. WHEN INFORMATION IS SHARED
We share limited information with service providers only when needed to operate a feature you request. These providers may include:
• Google Firebase: account authentication, database, storage, and secure cloud functions.
• Course and mapping data providers: to return course search results, tee information, hole geometry, greens, and hazards. They may receive the course name, place name, ZIP code, course identifier, or course coordinates required for the request.
• Weather providers: to return weather for the selected golf course. They may receive course coordinates or a course identifier, not your live device location unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
• Apple, Google, or another device speech provider: to transcribe speech after you activate the voice feature and grant permission.
• Official golf-rule websites: if you choose to open an external rule source, your browser connects directly to that website and its privacy practices apply.
• Cloud answer providers, when enabled: to process the text of a question and return a relevant answer. Fairway One will not intentionally send raw microphone recordings for this purpose.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of users or others, to investigate fraud or security issues, or as part of a business transfer where the recipient must honor this policy.
We do not permit service providers to use Fairway One information for their own advertising.
4. STORAGE, SECURITY, AND RETENTION
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Data transmitted to our service providers is protected in transit using standard encryption, and Firebase provides encryption at rest for supported services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention depends on how you use Fairway One:
• Guest data: scores, rounds, selections, and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you erase them, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.
• Account data: authentication information remains while your account is active. After account deletion, active account data is scheduled for deletion. Service-provider backups may take additional time to expire; Firebase states that deleted Authentication information may remain in backups for up to 180 days.
• Support and legal records: we may retain a limited record of a request when reasonably necessary to complete it, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
• De-identified information: information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for product improvement and reporting.
5. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You can:
• Use Fairway One as a guest without creating an account.
• Deny or revoke location, microphone, or speech-recognition permission through your device settings.
• Review and change app preferences.
• Sign out of your account.
• Erase locally stored information by using an available in-app reset option, clearing the app’s storage, or uninstalling the app.
• Delete your account inside the app by opening Account & Privacy, selecting Delete My Account, and confirming the request.
• Submit an account or data-deletion request at https://kinnecktapp.com/fairway-one-account-deletion.
• Contact us to request access to or correction of personal information associated with your account.
Some rights vary by location. We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.
6. ACCOUNT AND DATA DELETION
Deleting your account removes the account from Firebase Authentication and deletes Fairway One information associated with your user identifier from active systems, including stored profile, round, scoring, golf-bag, and performance information when present. It does not automatically remove information stored only on a device you no longer control.

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Fairway One is a general-audience golf app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through the Support page so we can investigate and delete it where required.
8. COURSE DATA, RULES, AND EXTERNAL SERVICES
Course layouts, distances, weather, golf-rule references, and local-course information may come from third parties. Their data and privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Fairway One is not affiliated with or endorsed by the USGA or The R&A unless we expressly state otherwise.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when Fairway One changes or when legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide additional notice where required.
